It was a little beat up on the outside, so I covered it with paper and sanded it down good. I then spray painted it black.
If you wonder why it seems to take me forever to complete projects, here is your answer. I have 2 eager helpers always on the ready.
They love to use this spray gun handle on the spray paint. If you do much spray painting and don't have one of these, you need one. It will change your life. Just sayin'. It costs $2 at Wal-Mart.

Anyway, I then roughed it up a little more, and rubbed a dark chocolate stain over the edges.
Amy and I cut out some vinyl letters on my Cricut, and we were done.
I have lots of projects about halfway done. I'll be posting some more as I finish them. Be back soon!
Love it! Great job! Off to check out more! :)

love it...can't wait for more...
ReplyDeleteI love the Habitat store--such cool stuff there. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteHabitat is great! Love the window "treatment"!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I need to see if we have a Habitat store here in Georgia. I also need to get my own Cricut - my mom has one that I use, but she won't let me cut vinyl on it - she thinks it messes up the blade =(
ReplyDeleteGreat project! I have a friend with a Cricut so we need to try to make this too.
ReplyDeleteLove this! And I'm slightly jealous - you have a Cricut! :)
ReplyDeleteCaaa-ute! I have a few windows at my house that I have yet to really do anything with yet. I really like the idea of putting the viynal on the glass. Hey, have you used the program Sure Cuts A Lot for your cricut? It basically allows you to download and use any true type font and uses the font from the computer instead of Cricut cartridges. It's wonderful!! Plus, you can work out things on your computer and the cricut cuts exactly how you place your words/fonts/images. So worth the $75 cost.
ReplyDeleteI really love that. Such a beautiful sentiment!
ReplyDeleteLove your creativity.....I have a crazy question.....What is the name of the granite in your picture? I'm searching for a "khaki" granite and can't find one! I love yours!
