Vacation Recap...

We spent the past week in Edisto, SC and had such a great time. If you've never been to Edisto, I consider it a well kept secret. It is not a "touristy" beach where there are tons of attractions. It is a low key, nothing to do type of place, and I LOVE it. Here are a few of the highlights.

Every trip to Edisto begins with a stop at King's Market. They sell produce, baked goods, jellies, etc. I LOVE their Keylime pie, but this time I actually stayed away and only got shrimp salad and produce.

The minute we got there, the boys hit the beach. Connor has always loved the water, but Walker has not. For the first time, Walker loved it too! We were thrilled because beach trips have never been fun in the past with Walker being so afraid of the ocean. We made one of our first successful sand castles. It got washed out by the tide soon after this picture, but it was fun.

The guys played some football. We rented a 2 person bicycle and rode it around the beach. In this picture Nana, the boys, and I are riding through puddles in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot while Walker screams, "We're out of control!" We had some legendary waterballoon fights off the balcony. Con had a hard time tossing them over the banister, so he went down to the grass and got a couple good shots in!
We spent a lot of time rocking on the front porch and enjoying the beach breeze. Here is Walker and Mama (Lon's grandma).
Walker loved feeding the seagulls. Here he is feeding them a whole bag of Cheese Puffs.
Con found a crab on the beach, and it actually pinched him. OUCH!
Some of the guys, and our cousin Victoria, went deep sea fishing and had a great time. This was the catch of the day, and they were so proud. They had to throw it back, but they were still so stoked about catching it.
They brought back several big fish, and the "skipper" cleaned them for us to take. We had a cooler full when it was all said and done.
Walker found this piece of driftwood on a walk with Nana, and carried all the way back down the beach. He was so proud of it that we actually brought it back home.
I went on a tour of the island via this pink van, and got to learn lots of interesting history about the plantations and history of Edisto. In this picture we were at Middleton Plantation.
We spent the 4th on the beach, and grilled out for dinner. It was a wonderful week, and I am in TN visiting my family for a few days now. We will be back home Wednesday and I will be in party mode with Walker turning four on Saturday. I hope you had a great week, and I can't wait to catch up on what all I missed in the world of blogging!

My sister and her hubby went to Edisto this past May. Shane and I were supposed to go with them but at the last minute were not able to. They just raved about Edisto though. It looks like you guys had such a fun time! I can't believe the size of those fish the guys caught! Loved all of the photos.

That looks like so much fun. I haven't seen the ocean in 7 years. I miss it. That fish looks wonderful.

What a great trip Mandi! Your little guys are so stinkin cute. I remember when mine were that little...time flies by WAY too quick. My favorite pic was the one in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot and what Walker said. HILARIOUS!

Loved your vacation pics. I have never been to the beaches of SC. After seeing all the fun, I might have to figure out a way to get there.
