It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our house. I have finally begun to feel like being productive again and have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off playing catch up.

The boys and I worked on their tree a little more. It is full of all the things they love, and they can touch it and mess it up, well a little bit anyway, without getting in trouble. We are gonna be crafting some ornaments this week and I am gonna laminate them, so it is still a work in progress, but Walker has lots of animals on it already and Connor has his car ornaments on it. We took those generic "shatterproof" ornaments and let them put stickers on them. They are really very proud of their work. It is so cute!

I crafted a few different things...

I have been wanting to try these little clips that Tricia did on her blog. They were pretty easy and I think they will be so great for a teacher gift. I wanted to make them with a clipboard, and it was not as successful. I still need to add an initial to the center, and the Modge Podge made the paper bubble. It is not as noticeable as I thought it would be, but I am gonna take Amanda's tip and use spray adhesive on the next one to bond the paper to the clipboard, and just use modge podge for the top coats.

I also made a few tassles. I got this Santa figurine at the Dollar Tree for, you guessed it, $1. I liked how he turned out with his buttons and ribbons, BUT...
My favorite tassle yet has to be this little snowman. My Mom will probably end up with him ( she loves snowmen), but I just think he is about as sweet as they come. I got the figurine at a thrift store for .50 cents, and Lon put a hook in the top for me.

The boys are feeling quite a bit better. The terrible rattling cough is still lingering, but they have a new medicine that is working much better. It knocks poor Connor out. You know he is tired when he falls asleep 2 hours after he got up, with Tinkerbell playing, and the DVD player propped up on his nose. Now that is some sleepin'!

We also got all of the yard lights/decor up today. I am not gonna do quite as much in the yard this year because we are getting a later start, and I just don't feel like it. It is so much harder to adapt all of your stuff from another house to a new house the first year. I didn't get any pics of that, but I will tomorrow.

Connor is sleeping, Lon is working, and Walker wants me to snuggle with him and watch Alvin and the Chipmunks. No need to twist my arm. The laundry and crafts will wait 'til tomorrow.

Mandi, Thanks for visiting and for leaving such a sweet comment! I'm so tickled to see that someone is reading my blog {and making some of the things I've posted}! :) Your clips are adorable and I LOVE your tassels!!! Did you have a tutorial that you followed? I found one months ago that was great...but I've yet to locate it again. They're adorable and would make great Christmas presents. Thanks again for visiting and I'll be back to visit you.

Yeah, thanks for the link to the tutorial. I was so excited after the last comment that I went digging through your previous posts looking for a tutorial and that's the same one I have been looking for! Thanks a million...and I know what I'll be making tomorrow afternoon.

By the way, I love your boys names. My son is named Connor and my maiden name was Walker. :)

First let me say that the pic of Connor with the dvd player up his nose made me laugh out loud!!! LOVE it!

Girl, your tassels are ultra fab! I have all the supplies to make some but I am very hesitant for some reason. I see all these beautiful ones online and I just don't know if I can replicate them. I promise I am going to try though.

I think your clipboard turned out sooooo cute! I cannot tell at all that the paper is bubbling. And those clips to go with it...precious! I still have 3 more clipboards to make and I am putting it off because it was so tedious the first time. Yes, I am the queen of procratination. By the way, thanks for linking to me in your post...so sweet.

Oh my gosh! I almost forgot to thank you for my award. I haven't had a chance to post it yet, but I will soon! You are too sweet.

xoxoxo ~ Amanda
