Cow Poke Shower Curtain...

I have been gradually working on several little projects here and there, and I am finally finishing a few of them. The boys' shower curtain is one of them.

Here is how this came together. I started out with a plain shower curtain from Wal-Mart. I then took some white fabric and had it embroidered with the boys' initials. I sewed the white fabric onto the shower curtain, and added some buttons and yo-yo's to make it a little more fun.

Finally, I added a ruffle at the bottom because it was shorter than I wanted. I picked out this adorable cowboy print at Hobby Lobby because it had red-head and blonde haired cowboys, and that reminded me of my 2 boys. Since it is in their bathroom, it seemed like a good choice.

I am happy with it and think it is so cute. It was relatively inexpensive. I probably have $20 and a couple hours of my time. The boutique shower curtains I looked at were $80 and up. What do you think of my take on it?

Love it!! The colors are fantastic, and I love the mix of patterns. What a fun room!

Oh, and the ottoman is great too. I have a very similar one from Target as well. I have been looking at it and longing to get to it for some time now. Hhmmmm.... Now my wheels are turning. ;)

I love it! It looks great. I think the fact that you made it longer, so you could hang it higher is amazing... I'll have to remember that when I re do my master bath.

Giddy-up girl! This is so awesome!! Can I just tell you that I loooove the ruffle on the bottom? What a perfect fabric too. Can I ask how you made the ruffle? I'd love to add some to the bottoms of my too short curtains.

Mandi C., I did my ruffle the easy way. I measured the width of the curtain and then doubled for the width of the ruffle fabric. I only had a yard, so I ended up having to sew a seam in the middle, but it isn't noticeable since it is gathered now. Next, to attach it it, I just gathered it as I fed it through my sewing machine very slowly. I could have pinned it to be more exact, but this way was easier to me!

You are so creative. I love it. I actually have the same shower curtain from Wal-mart and would NEVER have thought to make it so adorable. :)

Thanks Mandi! When I get home I really hope to do that to my curtains.

That can't be any cuter! Action has a cowboy room and I used cheap rope from Lowes as a border for the top of his room. I wrote his name in the rope...It only took 2 hours to put it all up and it has big impact. I love the way little things can turn into big ideas....you go girl!
