The Mandi Method...

Okay, I am the first to admit that I am a bit scatter brained, and it takes me a little longer than it should to get things done because of my tendency to get easily distracted (probably a bit OCD and Adult ADD), BUT THIS IS GONNA BE MY YEAR! I always make resolutions, and I always take off running in the new year with a huge long list and a heart full of hope. But it never fails that about Feb., or definitely by March, I am tired of being overwhelmed with all the changes I am trying to make and I resort back to my old habits.

After much research, I have figured it out. I try to make too many changes at once. SOOOO, I am taking a different approach this year, and I am really excited about it. BRACE Yourself, this is gonna be lifechanging news here... I just know you are gonna want to do this too! Research says it takes 21 days to form a new habit, so every 30 days I am gonna start a new habit. I am gonna take my 3 BIG resolutions and break them into 12 small ones.By the end of 2009 all 3 of the BIG changes will be made. Wait 'til the news stations get hold of this! You might even see me on Oprah or Good Morning America. The Mandi Method they'll be calling it, and you can say you knew me way back when.

I am also thinking if I post my progress monthly and on the blog, you all will hold me accountable. I am still working on my list of goals and how I want to break it down monthly. I am kicking off on Jan. 13, and will share the whole list of all 12 small goals then.

In all seriousness, I really am excited about this and I think this is gonna be a great year. If you want to join me you are welcome. I am starting on January 13 for several reasons, but it is mainly because 13 is my lucky number and waiting until then has given me a little more time to mellow out from the holiday rush. So start thinking about it and be ready for the launch on Jan. 13th!

Great idea!! I am too the "forget that" resolution girl, but I have tried to do better this week and I've done all except exercising...but hey it's been 2 years since I actually "exercised" (more than walking the neighborhood) and so I figure "what's one more week?" Awful I know! I think you will be great at all your goals and I will help you as much as I can...as I expect you to do me! I may post an update on mine today...still no way to get pictures off my camera and it's about to KILL me! Love you!!

I'm excited you are going to do WW too. It will be nice to have another bloggy friend for some support. Changing your eating is hard!
