Last week when Nester hosted the 10 Mins. to a Room You Love party, I submitted my kitchen window mistreatment because that took me about 10 mins. Well that FINALLY motivated me to decorate my kitchen window, so I thought I would share my progress and get some feedback.
Here is the before:
As you can tell, it is made for a window garden, but right now I do not have anything to plant there. The Chia Pets lived and died there, and now it is just a barren box. I spend a ridiculous amount of time at this window everyday. Cooking, washing dishes, washing hands, etc. I have big plans for this window in the Spring and Summer, but it finally ocurred to me that I had no reason to waste any more time looking at this blank box. SO, in about another 10 mins. I took out the adjustable shelf, added a lamp and some accessories. As Connor would say TA-DAAA... The lamp makes a huge difference, and so do all of the little accessories. It is all stuff I had around the house and I just put it together. The crazy little clay lady with the tacky earrings is from my Dad. I have decided to name her Bon Qui Qui.I love that wacky little woman and smile every time I look at her because my Mom told him it was tacky and I would never use it. Well, she is tacky, but I love her.
This is a sign my sister got me. Does anyone else have this problem?
And this is my reminder to keep up the hard work on the Weight Watchers.
Okay back to business, what do you think of the stuff in the window? And don't bother saying anything bad about Bon Qui Qui ( my little clay friend), or I will CUT YOU! ( If this made no sense to you then you need to follow this link and get in on the joke because Bon Qui Qui is some funny stuff!)

Once again. On at the same time. lol. I have been gone all day. I love the new window! I wanted to comment on your other decorating. I love it all too. Have you thought about painting a color between the frames and the plates? It would make them look matted. Just a thought to be pondered. It might be too permanant to paint the wall like that. Your home is so homey. It is a soothing place. I hope that mine seems that way. I haven't changed anything in a long time. SIGH>
I love it!!! And I think the cook is hotter than the food:)
I love the fabric in the bottom. And Bon Qui Qui better not call secur'ty on you for eating all that chocolate!
He liked the milk fine. Thanks for asking. He was only a breast baby in the VERY beginning. He had jaundice and was so tired from it that he quit nursing. I started pumping to get my milk in and he got rotten to the bottle real fast. I tried to nurse a few more times and he just wouldn't (even with help from a specialist). He has only had breast milk a little water and juice, so I was surprised that he took it so easy. I, fortunately could've fed a whole village and didn't have to use formula. He is such a habit baby. I am trying to get him on a hard spout cup now. He will do the soft spout. He chews on them and leaks drink everywhere. He just had a meltdown, so we are back to the soft spout like the one in his snow pic. Nice job, me rewarding the meltdown....choose your battles huh? Any suggestions, or just give it tim? I think that we might have some teeth situations too. I just gave him a big organic carrot. He likes to chew them when his teeth hurt. MR. INDEPENDENT!!!!
What cute touches to your home! I just love your little signs!! And I was so smiling at Bon Qui Qui. Loved that video! I'm so insanely jealous of your window. I wish I had a ledge to put things on. Maybe when I replace my window... Love it all Mandi!!
Great job!
